What's New

It's been a while since the last site update, but have no fear, we and our hosting system continue to add new functionality to our network, making it easier than ever to use.

Today we bring some "Quick Add" functionality that you'll notice (on the right side top) once you've signed into the network. It provides the ability to quickly and easily add new content, photos, blog entries, discussions, events, and even the ability to quickly and easily invite new members to join the network. Check it out.


Very minor change to the layout of the Main page, rearranging of some of the content.


Minor network updates are complete.

1) You'll notice that the 'Invite' tab (visible after you've signed in) has moved and is now between the 'Main' and 'My Page' tabs. Better to remind you to invite alumni that you're in contact with. In the last update, April 10, the feature to add events was added to the network. We've now made that functionality available to members to add events. Events can be either private, only invited members can RSVP, or public, where anyone can RSVP. It's a great new feature - give it a try and let us know what you think.

2) You'll notice that some of the messages you receive from the site has a new look and feel as we move to a message format that more accurately represents the alumni site.


Network updates are complete. New to the 614 RCAC Alumni site, is expanded support for Blogs, ability to create events, invite members etc. . .


Facebook Integration: To add a photo slideshow of the latest photos from the Alumni, click the Add to Facebook link on the main page, below the photos.


Added 'Featured Members' function to the Members page.


Here we grow again! The invitations to join the site have gone out. 135 invitations so far. If you are in contact with 614 alumni, please feel free to use the sites Invitation function to let them know where we are.


Added the ability to import photos from one of the most popular photo sharing sites on the Internet - Flickr!


Well, this page is new. Other changes:

Wider layout - allows more of the important information to be found, with less scrolling

Changes to the Photos page - larger thumbnails and wider view.

Photo Details Page now shows larger version of the photo

Photo Album updates bring more important information to the attention of the user.

On Member pages, the layout has changed moving information on your photos and videos to the centre for better use of space.

In Blogs, Photos, Forums, in fact, all over the site, you'll find updated styles for capturing and showing comments. In all cases, more room is available so please feel free to comment away.

For those of you that have experimented with customizing the appearance of 'My Page', you'll find a host of new themes to try out. Use the 'Theme' link under your photo (you do have a photo uploaded don't you???). For examples, see the member pages for Chris Saunders or Jacquie Pepper.

Don't worry about making changes to your page, you can always go back to the default 614 Alumni theme. For a preview of the available themes:
